About the AuthorJon Derek Croteau is vice president and partner at Witt/Kieffer. A leading expert in human capital assessment and advancement leadership, Croteau is the former assistant vice president for campaign planning and operations and assistant vice president for advancement services/director of organizational development and human capital management for Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He is adjunct professor in the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester. Croteau holds an Ed.D. from Boston University, a master's degree from Northwestern University, and a bachelor's from Emerson College.
He has also written The People First Approach: A Guide to Recruiting, Developing and Retaining the Right People (CASE 2009) and is the co-author of Making the Case for Leadership: Profiles of Chief Advancement Officers in Higher Education.
