Alumni of online programs can be very good alumni and donors for your institution. Often, resources are prioritized in favor of more traditional alumni because higher education institutions assume that those earning degrees online do not feel emotionally connected. This session focusses on: creating the feeling of belonging throughout the entire life cycle from prospective student to alumni/donor; research which indicates the desire from alumni for engagement; practical ways to get started with an online alumni program; and multi-institutional research regarding the philanthropic generosity of this population.
