Voluntary Support of Education, 2014
Charitable gifts to higher education institutions increased 10.8 percent in 2014, and voluntary support of colleges and universities in the United States is at its highest record level – $37.45 billion. The Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey’s sample of precollege institutions is too small and narrow to CAE to estimate total charitable support of precollege institutions. However, among precollege institutions that replied to the survey, contributions increased 7.9 percent. With 20 tables and 43 figures, plus 30 columns of data from each responding institution, the VSE highlights factors that fueled the increase in support and provides details about sources and purposes of gifts.
