Voluntary Support of Education, 2015
Charitable gifts to higher education institutions increased 7.6 percent in 2015, and voluntary support of collges and univeristies in the United States is at its highest recorded level – $40.30 billion. The Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey's sample of precollege institutions is too small and narrow for CAE  to estimate total charitable support of precollge institutions. However, among precollege institutions that replied to the survey, contributions increased 6 percent. Virtually all the precollege increase is due to an increase in gifts for or of property, buildings, or equipment. With 20 tables and 43 figures, plus 29 columns of data from each responding institution, the VSE highlingts factors that fueled the increase in support and provides details about sources and purposes of gifs.
